My Kauai Vacation Rental

Cleaning Guidelines

Our Approach to Safety

As a hospitality provider, we have enhanced our cleaning processes and property preparation to meet CDC guidelines. Our vacation home offers naturally built-in distancing from others—no lobbies or check-in agents, no elevators or stairs, electronic deadbolts instead of keys, and a private entry away from other guests. With separate living spaces, in-unit laundry, and a fully-equipped kitchen, you can enjoy your stay without unnecessary exposure.

Enhanced Cleaning Guidelines

Our cleaning staff follow these protocols:

  • Wear masks throughout the cleaning and sanitizing process
  • Use only disposable, single-use cleaning tools and canister vacuums to avoid cross-contamination
  • Give special attention to high-touch items including door handles, light switches, telephones, remote controls, drapery pulls, furniture knobs, appliances, faucet handles, utensils, cutlery, crockery, chairs, tables, bed frames, and shower handles
  • Prioritize waste bins, cleaning equipment left for guests, and guest information materials

Linens and Spare Items

Spare blankets, sheets, and pillows are stored in sealed containers after cleaning to prevent contamination. All linens are washed at the highest temperatures and completely dried before the bed is remade.

Guest Arrival and Departure

  • No other individuals are allowed to enter the home after it has been sanitized for your use
  • We ask that guests refrain from inviting others into their vacation home
  • The enhanced cleaning process requires additional time, so we are unable to provide early arrivals and late departures
  • Guests are asked to remove their shoes before entering and leave them outside the door, following Hawaiian custom
  • Sanitizing and cleaning products are available for guests to wash hands and forearms upon arrival
  • A Guest Welcome Kit with individually packaged single-use amenities and bath supplies is provided

During Your Stay

  • Continue social distancing practices when departing the rental home
  • Self-monitor for symptoms and follow the advice of local authorities
  • Seek medical assistance if needed
  • Contactless check-in and check-out, along with electronic door hardware, provide additional safety measures

Before Your Arrival

We ask incoming guests about recent travel to COVID-19 impacted areas and any travel restrictions in their area. We prefer longer stays to reduce foot traffic and the cleaning time needed between guests.
